If you are one of those who prefer domestic and indigenous products to factory products, it's likely that the "Ba Salam internet market" will be interesting to you where different types of goods are available in different ways, such as domestic fruit leather from the northern cities, local pickles from Shushtar itself, or even whey from the Zagros Mountains! Of course, it is now part of the focus of “Ba salam” on the province of Khuzestan, which we will continue to discuss.

What is “Ba Salam”?

"Ba Salam" is an internet market for local and domestic products from all over Iran. Different people who are producer, have a booth in “Ba Salam”, and put their products in the pavilions they manage. Other people also order them, and products are shipped from producers directly to their customers. When products reach customers, they pay to producers. You can buy many different products from “Ba Salam”. From daily food items, to crafts and home appliances. In fact, “Ba Salam” has seven different markets:

  • Foodstuffs
  • Handicrafts
  • Home Appliances
  • Grocery
  • Clothing
  • Cosmetics
  • The market for cultural products

Currently, more than 3,000 people own booths in “Ba Salam”, and together they have provided about 40,000 products. These are three thousand people from all over Iran, and there is almost no city not including a member in “Ba Salam”.

What products are traded in “Ba Salam”?

Most products are original and home intimated. When surfing “Ba Salam”, there is not much news about famous brands and factory products. Very simply, in the grocery market, you buy homemade jam, or order Mr Moradi’s honey in Susangerd. Alternatively, for example, in the bazaars of garments in “Ba Salam”, we find knitwear for babies weaved by grandmothers or perhaps beautiful wooden decorations made by several girls who are students. Most of the products in “Ba Salam” cannot easily be found on the Internet. For example, rural food supplied by the villagers, or original craftsmanship of areas that have not previously provided their products to the Internet. Or, for example, Mom’s homemade household products produced in the same way as they produce for their own family.

How is shopping security secured?

Orders are handled directly between the customer and the seller. Products are sent directly to the customer by the seller. That means brokers have been removed from this market. Buyers pay the total amount of the invoice when ordering, but their money remains in stock at “Ba Salam” until the product is delivered to them. When the product is delivered correctly, the payment is made to the seller. Since sales occur directly between people, “Ba Salam” guarantees the customer. That is, if the product received by the customer was different in terms of quality with what the manufacturer wrote, or the product did not look like the picture on “Ba Salam”, the customer can simply cancel the order, return the product and fully recover the money.

What does “Ba Salam” do in Khuzestan?

In previous months, “Ba Salam” has focused on the province of Khuzestan and the noble Southern products. In the past few months, “Ba salam” has traveled to various cities of Khuzestan province and by the end of Farvardin 1398, more than 185 Khuzestani businesses have come to “Ba Salam” and have built a booth for themselves in this market. These booths have brought about 1700 authentic products of Khuzestani to “Ba Salam”. The reason why “Ba Salam” market has chosen Khuzestan as one of its focal points, the province is less known in the central parts of Iran, despite its high capacity for production of genuine products. Khuzestan is known to all by dates, but dates are not the only product of this province. Khuzestan's handicrafts are also important products that unfortunately still do not have a strong market in other cities of Iran. Wicker and other handicrafts produced with palm, spices, herbs, specialty foods of the province, handmade textiles and artwork, such as wheat stems, are among the few that are known in other cities. Khuzestan Province, while providing the largest government revenue, is itself seriously suffering from economic deprivation and environmental problems. Therefore, “Ba Salam” has decided to help this province with its capacity and, along with its users, play a role in improving the livelihood of the people of this province. This is an comprehensive benefit. Because the people of Iran, if they have better access to Khuzestan products and know the quality and originality of these products, can use “Ba Salam” to buy from this province and provide part of their supplies from the main sources of these products.
