Khuzestan is known to all by dates, but dates are not the only product of this province. Khuzestan's handicrafts are also important products that unfortunately still do not have a strong market in other cities of Iran. Wicker and other handicrafts produced with palm, spices, herbs, specialty foods of the province, handmade textiles and artwork, such as wheat stems, are among the few that are known in other cities. Khuzestan Province, while providing the largest government revenue, is itself seriously suffering from economic deprivation and environmental problems.
